Cheadle & Gatley Griffins Dodgeball Club were originally a ladies group set up by Life Leisure in October 2016 as part of a “Wish I Tried” incentive in Stockport.
18 months later two of our members, Emma Milser and Linzi McCoy, qualified as British Dodgeball level 2 coaches and took over running the sessions on a Tuesday Evening at Cheadle College, Cheadle Hulme.
This enabled the club to become a self-sufficient and British Dodgeball recognised member club, being funded by the subs of £3.50 that are paid each week on a pay when you play basis.
Our members range from ages 6 to 60 and the main focus for our sessions are to have fun and making new friends along the way.
In September 2018 we successfully launched our junior section, for ages 6 to 16 which has been a real success, led by Coach Jordan Black (Manchester Bees).
In May 2019 we were very excited to start our men’s section, led by Coach Sam Wrench (Team GB and England Lions).
Dodgeball is a great way to get fit and have fun at the same time. There are no limitations on age, fitness or size in this sport, it is truly a sport for all.
We have met some really nice teams along the way, entering tournaments for those who like the more competitive side, who have shown lots of encouragement and support.
