Our Coaches

Emma Milser
I live in Gatley, I’m a wife, mum to two girls and have been a nurse since I was 19 years old. My career, mostly in critical care has taught me many things…fundamentally that I love meeting and dealing with people from all walks of life…and that life can be very short. Hence, when I saw a local Facebook post for ‘I Wish I’d tried’ ladies dodgeball I jumped at the chance to try something new!

I’ve not played a team sport since I was at school and soon found that I really enjoyed the camaraderie and fun that playing dodgeball brought.

Fast forward 18 months and I’m still loving playing and have made firm friendships through the team. I’ve also been introduced to many lovely members of the wider dodgeball community.

Linzi McCoy and I recently completed our level 2 dodgeball coaching qualification which coincided with the club becoming self sufficient. So I have now taken over coaching alongside Linzi, who has been a good friend for several years.

It’s a steep learning curve, but we are passionate about the club and the sport. We have great members who are incredibly supportive and we couldn’t be doing this without them!

I have lived in the Cheadle / Heald Green area all my life, I’m married and have a daughter who also loves dodgeball. I work as an accounts manager for a small company in Hazel Grove and have been there for 12 years.

I have known Emma Milser for several years and when she suggested trying dodgeball I thought ‘why not’ it would be a great chance to try something new and meet new people. It’s been a long time since I’ve played a team sport like this and I really enjoyed it, the fun of playing dodgeball was really refreshing. I’ve now played for 18 months and have made many friendships, both on the team and across British Dodgeball, and everyone is very supportive.

Along with Emma, I completed my level 2 dodgeball coaching qualification just as our club became self sufficient, so we have now taken over the coaching. It’s an exciting new era for the club which we are really looking forward to, and the support of our members drives us forward.
